Grey blending vs grey coverage: what's the difference?

Traditional grey coverage is designed to conceal grey hair with a more solid, uniform colour. It can provide beautiful coverage, but as the hair grows it can create a more noticeable regrowth line, particularly when your natural grey is significantly lighter than your coloured hair.

Grey blending takes a different approach.

Do I have to stop colouring my hair completely?

Can highlights blend grey hair?

How long does it take to transition to grey hair?

There isn’t one answer, because every grey transition is different. Your starting colour, previous colour history, hair condition, natural grey pattern and desired result all influence how quickly your transition can happen.

Some clients may achieve their desired grey blend over just a few appointments, while darker hair or hair with years of permanent colour may benefit from a more gradual approach.

Can grey blending be achieved in one appointment?

Sometimes, yes. But not always and that's important to understand.

If your starting colour and natural grey are already relatively harmonious, we may be able to create a beautiful blend in one appointment.

More complex transitions particularly darker permanent colour, colour build-up or hair that requires significant lightening may take several sessions.

Healthy hair always comes first. We won't rush the process at the expense of its condition.

Is grey blending lower maintenance than covering grey?

Will grey blending work if I've been colouring my hair for years?

In many cases yes, but your colour history matters.
